#156 A hotel room from Im Seyoung in America: 1955 to 1956, 2017
Mikyoung Jun Pearce is a Korean/British artist based in London who investigates notions of place, memory and identity. From fragments of stories, images and footage taken from the background tapestry of life she builds connections and associations between the cracks that litter contemporary living. Her work deals with these borders and fissures – physical and psychological, public, private, social, national, personal, political and cultural – that criss-cross our everyday lives. She has exhibited and performed in the UK, South Korea, Japan, Germany and Russia.
